doorwayI believe that heaven is a real place and not just a state of mind. The idea of heaven being a real place is backed-up by the Scripture through Jesus’ promise, ” In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:1-3).”

What he is telling to his followers that from his existence in this world and asencion to heaven, and then by coming back again: “When I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you into myself, that where I am you may be also.” This indicates that there really is a place called heaven, and not jus a state of mind. The idea of heaven as a place can be located in the New Testament (Acts 1:9; Luke 24:51).

A similar conclusion can be drawn from the first martyr of the Christian faith Stephen. Just before he was going to be stoned to death as he was full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; and he uttered, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God” (Acts 7:55-56).

Clearly, he did not just saw mere symbols of a state of existence that does not belong to a place. But rather what this particular verse tells us is that his eyes were opened and exposed to gaze as spiritual dimension of what really is in which our Creator hid from us in this present life-a dimension which really exist in our space-time universe.

Moreover, the truth is that believers will be resurrected with bodies like our Saviors resurrected body simply tells us that heaven well be a place of habitation for such physical bodies.

If heaven is just a state of mind then bodily resurrection will be unnecessary. Otherwise, Jesus would not have promised, “To go prepare a place for us then return back, just to take us with him and be there with him” (John 14:2,39) if such a place were indeed just a state of mind. So, you want to go to heaven?

There are three things you have to do.

Do You Want to Be in Heaven?

Realise that you are a sinner

Recognize that Jesus Christ died For you on the Cross for your sin.

Repent from your sin and receive Jesus Christ into your life.
